Not our plan

This story is only funny because I'm such a planner. I like order, no chaos, organization and everything associated with it. God knows my heart and therefore knew I would need a scheduled C-section in order to plan around our next baby's birth...He does have a sense of humor. On Saturday, I was honored by my great friends with a sweet baby shower. Everything was perfect and the timing couldn't have been better, 2 weeks before my c-section. I had plenty of time to get everything in order. My hospital bag was packed the week before, just because that's how I roll. After the shower, I had an overwhelming need to finish shopping for the last minute things I knew we would need when Nathan came. I loaded up Sarabeth and we headed to Target. Later that day, Matt and I went to Lowe's for the finishing touches on the nursery. That night, I stayed up late organizing the nursery and packing Nathan's hospital bag...again,that's just me.

Sunday morning as I was walking back to bed from the bathroom, indeed something strange happened that made me think we should head to the hospital. My water never broke with Sarabeth, nor did I experience much contractions since by the time they came I had an epidural. Not the case with Nathan. Matt and I got ready, packed his and Sarabeth's bags and headed to drop her off at The Hilton's and then to the hospital.

Matt and I waited in triage for the operating room to be ready. Four hours and 4 emergencies later, they finally had a room ready for us, but not before my contractions were now 1 minute apart and I was in full on labor with no drugs. Girls, I don't know how you do it without it!

Nathan was born at 2:37 pm on Feb. 28 weighing in at a hefty 8lbs 12oz! He's ready for football tryout already! Here are some pictures from Nathan's first few days.

Baby Bedding!

Here is a picture of the finished product. My intention was to sew it all by myself, however all I did is pick the fabric, cut and pin and my sweet friend Rebecca decided to sew the whole thing in one night without me! Not that I am complaining, she did an amazing job and she is an incredible friend. Thank you Rebecca for all of your hard work. It is beautiful and I can't wait to put Nathan in his new crib!

My sweet baby girl

What happened to these little feet? With a new little boy on the way, I can't help but try to remember when my firstborn was so small. Time passes so fast and I'm starting to get a little sad that the infancy of my little girl is long gone. I will be reminded soon of how quickly time passes. 3 weeks and counting! We can't wait to meet you baby Landes!

My big girl! Cutest little toes I've ever seen!
