The Way You Do The Things You Do

Oh Sarabeth, how you make me laugh! Lately you have been such a little monkey. You will climb on, over and under anything! Yesterday you climbed into the laundry basket while I was folding clothes. Then I found you wedged between the couch and the wall. Regularly you are found under your exersaucer. Daddy and I love to lay in the floor with you and let you climb all over us! You want to walk so bad. Today you just let go of the couch and tried to take a step. You landed face first on the floor...poor baby! You are a trooper though, you got right back up and tried again!

You are making new sounds every day. Your first babble words were da da da da da da. Of course daddy's heart melts because he thinks you are calling for him. This week you started saying ba ba ba ba ba. I can't wait until it's ma ma ma ma! You are learning the word no ma'am. Daddy and I are working hard to keep you safe from the things you love to play with the most, blinds, outlets, computer wires and anything else you aren't suppose to have! You have become an expert in precisely picking up anything in the carpet and strategically placing it in your mouth. You are a handful!

You love your daddy so much! Yesterday when I said da da you looked at the door in anticipation for him to come home. He scoops you up in his arms everyday when he gets home. You love for him to chase you around and "get you". He can make you giggle like no one else. Oh how I love that sound!

You are learning to play well by yourself. You love your toys and do have some favorites. Right now your preferences are the washcloth penguin and the baby bear dressed up as a rabbit. I think you love these little toys because they fit right in your hand. You love anything that makes noise, especially if it sings a song. You have started to dance a little when I sing to you. You are so funny to watch! Sometimes I sneak up on you and watch you playing and talking to your animals.

You really don't like getting dressed or having your diaper changed. These are the biggest challenges of the day. You are the squirmiest worm! You are growing fast. It seems like everyday I am having to box up more of your clothes. Your pj drawer is very bare!

You love to eat big girl food. Your favorites are watermelon and pickles. You really love any food. I haven't found anything yet that you don't like. I am careful to give you only one at a time or else they all end up in your mouth at one time.

You still have a love for people. You are very social and love to play with everyone and love to smile and bat your eyes (it gets daddy every time). You really are the greatest baby. I love you so much Sarabeth. These are the best days of my life. Daddy and I prayed so much for you and never imagined how God was going to bless our lives so richly with you. I love watching you grow and learn. I am so thankful to be your mommy.

Love,
mommy

More pics from Aunt Lingis Visit

We took Lindsay to Space Center Houston and to Kemah before she left. I wasn't really into the whole Space Center thing but Matt and Lindsay had a great time. Afterward, we headed over to Kemah and bought an all day pass for the rides. It was about 115 degrees outside but we managed to make it fun. Here are some pics from the weekend with her:

Of course this was Matt's idea, she doesn't look amused

Sarabeth just kickin' back and taking it all in

I rode this with Lindsay but I didn't want my goofy face on here..so it's Matt's instead
This I did not ride...only crazy people on this one. Matt and Lindsay are in the front row on the end. This thing goes all the way upside down and just sits there. I should have had something to catch all the money falling out!

Sprinkles anyone?

When we were waiting for Matt to get home to leave for Arkansas last week, Sarabeth and I cleaned the kitchen...well she played in the pantry. Here is what happens when I leave my daughter in the room alone for 30 seconds:

Yummy chocolate sprinkles. Let me just say that these sprinkles some how multiplied and are now all over the house. I thought I got them all.

The Belated 4th

Matt and I left Thursday night at 9:00pm on our usual 5 hours trek to his parents' farm in Arkansas. After 2 monster drinks and lots of snoring on my end, we made it...3:30 a.m. Sarabeth was all about being awake at 3:30! She went back down for a little while and was up and at 'em at 6:30a.m.!

Matt's brothers Jake and Gabe were visiting with their families as well. It was all in the family for 3 days! The kids played and got really dirty and all I did was eat...seriously. Here are some pictures form the weekend.

Free Baby Bottles

Hey! For those of you that are bottle feeding your babies, Babies R Us is taking all bottles that contain Bisphenol-A and will give you full credit toward BPA-Free Bottles. They will give you a voucher and you must use it on BPA Free bottles only. I went today and got the Dr. Browns. Besides Dr. Browns I only saw Evenflo which are very inexpensive (we got 2 packs of those) and Born Free, which are very expensive. In April, the FDA recommended that some products containing Bisphenol-A could be harmful to babies. You can google it and read different opinions. I just heard that Babies R Us was offering this so I took advantage. You never know! Just a little info for you moms out there.

Happy 4th!
