Blurb

For all 3 of you people that actually read my blog, I found this really neat site that lets you turn your blog entries and pictures into a book! I have been a scrapbooker for years but transferring my blog stuff to a scrapbook has been really tough. With this site, it does it for you and the books are priced reasonably. Anyway, just an idea for those of you who are interested.

The Yuckies

The last few weeks around here have been filled with nothin' but the yuckies! Last week I had a rotten case of vertigo. One day I spent the entire day in about 10 square feet of our downstairs with Sarabeth. It was one of those days where I wish I could have just called in sick...but those days are no more. Matt left for work and I set up shop where I could care for Sarabeth without having to run into any walls or fall over. By Tuesday I was getting worse so I had the doc call me in a script for nausea. It slowly got better and by the end of the week I was good to go. Friday night Sarabeth woke up vomitting. Lovely. We had a grand b-day party at the zoo on Saturday and I LOVE THE ZOO! She didn't seem like she was sick although she did vomit another 2-3 times that morning and at the zoo...yes we went anyway. We had to skip an event that I really wanted to be at on Saturday night. (Thank you God for testing if my priorities were in line, they weren't-hence the zoo outing) On Sunday morning Sarabeth seemed refreshed and back to normal so off to church we go. She did well in the nursery and then at lunch she showered us all with her throw up. Sorry Michael! After getting home she seemed great for the rest of the night. Then...Matt woke up in the middle of the night with the yuckies! He was out of commission for the entire day. He was so sick he couldn't even lift his head, poor thing. So, I was on full nurse duty for two. Sarabeth and I made a trip to the pedi, prognosis...stomach bug. Back home with go with no meds. Doc said there was nothing we could do but wait it out. Meanwhile Matt is really bad. Between cleaning up Sarabeth's yuckies and keeping Matt hydrated, it was a long Monday. Today Matt was better, Sarabeth threw up in the car, and I...was on the brink of losing it. I think I have the mental yuckies. So we will be at the pedi again tomorrow for allergy testing and to check for ANOTHER ear infection. Pray for all of us, I really need it!

Tutu Princess....not

Well, the tutu turned out so cute, but Sarabeth was not impressed. I think she found it a bit much. So for now it will hang in her room...mama tried!

What a Face!

My Dare Devil

Sarabeth has really started moving around a lot lately. She so wiggly when I hold her and she wants to touch and grab everything! She's scooting around kind of crawling but not yet all the way. She is pulling herself up on everything and standing! Today I found her on top of her Bumbo chair:Then later on she tried standing up while balancing on my leg:

Every day she tries something new. Here she is trying to peek into the tall toy basket:
Nevertheless, she's so much fun! She's starting to really understand "playing" and has started picking out favorite toys. I notice some go untouched and others she carries everywhere. Here are a couple of her favorites.

Tutu Cute!

I've seen these tutu's everywhere and haven't found one that I can afford yet so I decided to make my own...by "my own" I mean for Sarabeth :) It only cost $7 to make and it took me about an hour. I'll have some pictures of her in it tomorrow, but here's how it turned out.

Sarabeth's Brothers

Sarabeth LOVES Rowdy and Roscoe. Roscoe is the beagle and he really doesn't have anything to do with her. He just sniffs and moves along. Rowdy on the other hand, licks her to death and she loves it! He lets her pull on his ears and grab is eyes. She gets so excited when she sees them.

Caught in the toybox!

My 1st Mothers Day!

What a joy to be a mom. Yesterday was like having another birthday this year. Matt was so sweet and spent the day Saturday with Sarabeth while I slept, a lot! He managed to secretly make me a flower box for outside my kitchen window. I woke up to this on Sunday morning: (please excuse the bad roots, not to mention the dirty hair)The card says "mommy" and you can see the flower box in the crib (no babies were harmed during the taking of this picture)

We had a great day at church and then spent the afternoon buying flowers to plant in my new window box and in the front beds.

I told Matt a few weeks ago that I would like to plant some flowers for Mother's Day. What I meant was I wanted flowers planted for Mother's Day...oops! So what was meant to be a family affair soon turned into a one man show:We, I mean Matt stayed up very late and only made it through a few plants. Poor thing! I will have some completed pictures later this week.

I really did enjoy my day, better than any birthday or holiday. Being a mom is such a joy and having a day all to myself is priceless!

New Website Plug

I know some of you already read her page but if not, try it out here.

She's hilarious and has a great cooking blog too.

Right now she's giving away a camera and printer, but don't enter because you will lessen my chances of winning :) JK!

Resourceful Baby

Sarabeth loves to sleep with her blanket over her face. Matter of fact, she can't fall asleep without something covering her eyes. Usually if she doesn't have her blanket she uses her arm. This time she used something else...

Happy 1/2 Birthday Sarabeth

Sleeping Beauty

Play time

Yum Yum

Where are you going?

Sweetness!

Peek a Boo!

"I'm helping with laundry, it's mostly mine anyway."

Stike a Pose Sarabeth!

Dear Sarabeth,
I look at you and can't believe how fast the time flies. Everyone always tells me that you will grow up fast...you have. You had your 6 months shots today and did very well. You only cried briefly and then fell fast asleep on the way home. You are such a good baby.

You've learned to sit up on your own, which is your favorite way to play. You are scooting and army crawling everywhere. You even ventured off the side of the bed last week. I have so much fun playing with you. Your favorite toys are mommy's cell phone and anything that has a cord on it that you can chew on. I know these aren't age appropriate things to play with so you will usually settle for your snap together plastic toys and anything that makes noise.

You are so much fun to be around. You have a constant smile on your face and it's so easy to get you to giggle! You have a sweet countenance and are very adventurous. I think you are going to be a handful when it comes to getting you to stay put.

You love people, especially other babies. Your big blue eyes will follow any stranger until they are out of your sight. I'm sure taking you to public places is a vision stimulus overload!

I can't rock you to sleep much anymore, although I really try. You are very squirmy and want to explore and touch everything around you. You still reach for me and daddy when you are sleepy, it just melts my heart. You will only go to sleep with your pacifier and a blanket over your head...again I'm sure this is not the most appropriate thing to do but it works for you.

You love to eat! I try new foods with you each week and so far, no complaints.

You let me put big silly bows on your head still and you know how much I love that.

You are really loving to get to know your brothers Roscoe and Rowdy. You love Rowdy the best because he lets you pull his ears and poke his eyes. Roscoe just waits for you to throw a toy or food so he can catch it....and keep it.

Daddy calls you "doodles". He got that name from when you were little bitty and would curl up on him like a doodle bug. It's catching on, now I call you that too!

Sarabeth I love you so much. You bring joy to my life and warm my heart with every smile. I wish I could bottle these precious moments up and save them, for I know they will pass in an instant. Happy 1/2 birthday sweetie!

Love,
mommy
