Today my child rolled over and I missed it. She's been acting like she's going to roll over all week. Matt and I just sit and watch her and encourage her like she's playing some sport or something, "come on honey, you can do it" "you've almost got it, come on!" But, she wouldn't do it for us. So today I laid her on her play mat while I went into the other room for 1 minute. When I returned, she was on her tummy! So, I called Matt to inform him of what he missed but not to worry because I didn't see it either. And of course, we can't get her to do it again, no matter how much we cheer her on from the sidelines.

Happy Birthday Rian!
Today is my neices birthday, she's 3. Here are some pictures from Christmas, she's such a ham. I look at her so different now, paying more attention to how she is, knowing that I will have a daughter her age one day too!

Fashion Diva! She wanted to put ALL the bows on her hat, one was not enough.

Mockingbirds Diamond Rings and Goats
This past weekend my mom and grandma came to visit and help out packing for our move next weekend. My poor grandma worked so hard and of course my mom played with Sarabeth all day! At one point during the day I heard my mom singing to Sarabeth, just as she did with me and my brother when we were small. I had struggled over the past few months to remember the words to any lullaby that mom had sung to us but as my mom sang, the words came back to me. It's funny how they make no sense at all as an adult! I mean really, who would buy their child a bird, expensive jewelry or a farm animal? I can just see some mom at Wal-Mart negotiation with her child that if they will just behave and be quite then she'll stop by the farm on the way home and let them pick out a new billy goat. Nonetheless, the songs soothed miss Sarabeth right into dreamland. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Happy Belated New Year
Here are a few pictures from our NYE at our friend Jodi and Jake's . Some of the guys played a vicious game of SORRY while the rest of us participated in a lenghty and "friendly" game of Phase 10, which should have been called "SORRY" since that's what we kept saying to each other as we nicely skipped them in turn. :)

Here's the group, each with their spouse...well kind of. Josh was alone since Michelle was ringing in the new year in Ohio with her family and Adrian...well he got locked in the bathroom during the countdown and missed the whole thing. He did get in a kiss at 12:01. Oh well, better late than never.

My Lovey
When I was a kid growing up I received a teddy bear for my 9th birthday. I loved this bear so much it went everywhere with me, really. It has been to the Bahamas, church camp, camping trips, overnight stays with grandma, college, and yes, I have to admit I slept with this bear until I got pregnant with Sarabeth. Something about it comforted me at night. It was hard to go to sleep without it. Everyone teased me of course because I way outgrew my bear but couldn't part with it. Matt's brother's kids both have loveys and it's so cute to see them loving on them. Matt's mom gave Sarabeth this ducky for Christmas and I believe it's going to become her first lovey. It goes everywhere with her and hopefully as she gets older, it will also comfort her to sleep. Nothing like creating an addict this early! :)
